Clayface - Goop or Great? (Spoilers)
When this was first announced, I was pretty excited for a horror take on this classic Batman villain. Other versions of him have been comedic so this was a decent change of pace.
The Great
It doesn't waste time getting into the action, with Matt Hagen getting his face carved up within the first 15 minutes. It was hard to watch with how visceral it was. The effects were insanely good, they are the real winner of the film. The shapeshifting is seamless. I didn't think they would show his final form but they did at the end and holy shite it was powerful. Also Gotham looked awesome. You really feel the grime of the Narrows when you're there in the film.
The Goop
Let's address the elephant, or should I say, gorilla in the room. It is so unbelievable that a gigachad actor like Matt Hagen would fall for a negress, even if she did save his life. Now for many readers this is a total deal breaker and for that I cannot blame you.
The Verdict
For me it is a 3.3/5. Go see it. Or not. I dont care
