Secretary of War Pete Hegseth orders the Pentagon to do what Congress failed to do: secure U.S. elections ahead of the midterms. Back in early 2025, during the 100-day surge after President Trump's inauguration, I predicted on a now-suspended X account that the GOP, or factions within it, would try to derail the momentum built from the 2024 Election. Outside of the Big Beautiful Bill, Congress, and largely the Senate, have stalled much of the Trump Administration's agenda due to their refusal to end the filibuster and pass key bills that the establishment GOP slow-walked. Now, 35 days before the midterms, the Pentagon pulls its bootstraps up and prepares to combat foreign attempts to engineer election fraud and mobilize military voters.
