Week 3 Thursday Night Football Preview - Falcons vs Packers
I cannot believe they put this match-up on prime time but whatever, here we are. The 0-2 Falcons are traveling to beautiful Green Bay, Wisconsin for a Thursday night battle against the 1-1 Packers. Weather reports are saying it will be a crisp 61 degrees on the field at kickoff.
It was announced on Tuesday that Michael Penix Jr. will get the start for Atlanta due to injuries and abysmal performances from brain dead Tua, Nordic Race Warrior Cooper Rush, and rookie Jack Strand. Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is doubtful with a neck injury.
Historically, the Packers are winning the H2H series 19-17, with the last match up a win from Atlanta in 2023. Does anyone remember when the Falcons traded a 2nd round QB named Brett Favre for peanuts in 1991? I wonder how that worked out for them.
With Atlanta only scoring a whopping 16 points and giving up 54 points, this one could get ugly fast. Green Bay is not that great either, with a drubbing from Minnesota and close victory against the Jets. Green Bay is favored by only 5.5 but it's trending closer to a blow out.
Falcons Fantasy Football: Expect Bijan Robinson to get most of the workload. Through 2 games he has 37 carries and 11 catches. Kyle Pitts has 1 catch so far but I think this will pick up.
Packers Fantasy Football: Christian Watson has been their clear number one target with 3 touchdowns in 2 games. Tucker Kraft is solid but hasn't shown anything yet. Expect this to change soon.
Final Prediction: 27-13 Green Bay
