GAMERS IN CONTROL, U.S. Military uses Xbox controllers to fire advanced laser weapons
I have always wondered whether the military would ever start incorporating aspects of gaming culture into more advanced weapons systems; well, here's a look at that. The U.S. Military is using modified Xbox controllers to control infrared lasers to dismantle Iranian targets, drones, and incoming cruise missiles. Imagining my middle finger pressing the trigger button and a laser destroying a drone sounds so epic. Hail America!
Army Lt. Owen Farquer, an active operator of the LOCUST laser system along the U.S. southern border, noted that using the Xbox controller has been "intuitive for many of the soldiers who grew up playing video games". Vaporizing illegal aliens and muslims would be a dream come true.
"Sec Hegseth was able to take over a controller and shoot down a drone with, I think, a couple minutes of training," Jared Keller with Laser Wars reports. I sure hope there is a photo of this, and we'll see it sometime in the future.
Gamers and patriots are in control.
