After the Paramount–Warner Bros. merger officially folded into Skydance, the new studio gave disgraced former talk-show host and Tolkienite Stephen Colbert some sad news this morning: they’re pressing pause on the Middle earth movie he’d been working on. The project is now all but canceled. Apparently, to save face, they told Stephen they weren’t even sure if the IP is profitable anymore (probably due to the abysmal performance of Rings of Power), but in reality they’re likely just waiting until public interest in the libshit host runs out.
