Trump Tells Automakers to Chill on Gas Mileage, Says Cars will be Cheaper
Trump just slashed the Biden-era fuel economy requirements for new cars, dropping the 2031 target from 50.4 to 34.9 MPG. Apparently this is supposed to make cars about $1,300 cheaper, although there's some concern that people will just end up spending all that money on gas anyway. I personally will be spending all the extra money on Uber Eats.
